Newborn boy dies in bed with mother in Waterford | News

WATERFORD, CA - A newborn baby boy died Monday morning after his mother allegedly rolled on top of him.

The Stanislaus County sheriff's deputies responded to a home on the 400 block of Church Street around 9 a.m. and found that the baby was not breathing, Deputy Raj Singh said.

When responders got on scene, they began CPR. The infant was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Singh said the incident seems to be an accident.

However, until autopsy results and toxicology reports are done, deputies will process the scene like a crime. Singh said investigators are not ruling anything out.
