Turlock man arrested for possession of weapons | Crime

Turlock police discovered weapons and a homemade explosive device while responding to a family disturbance call on Sunday at the 2500 block of Annhurst Avenue.
Officials said they detained suspect Carlos Villegas for questioning when they found a homemade stabbing weapon concealed in his possession. A loaded sawed-off shotgun and homemade explosive were also found on the property.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Disposal Unit responded and determined that the device was harmless. Police said Villegas was arrested and booked for felony possession of a dirk/dagger, felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun and felony possession of a destructive device.
