Dinner Theater at the Modesto Library

Plan on a night of fun for the whole family with “Dinner Theater” at the Modesto Library on Wednesday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m. Local musician, Chris Doud, will be performing wonderful folk music from his new children’s CD.

Participants will bring their own dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. with the free theater production following at 7 p.m. Dinner Theater, sponsored by the Stanislaus County Library Foundation, through a grant from Omega Nu, is a family program recommended for children ages 6 and older. Advance registration is required as space is limited.

Senior Awareness Day at the Modesto Library

Seniors can learn about resources available to them at Senior Awareness Day at the Modesto Library on Thursday, May 9 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Representatives from many organizations including CalFresh, Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP), and Catholic Charities will be available to answer questions and register program applicants. This is a wonderful opportunity for senior citizens and caregivers to obtain information on various services available in our community.

Delta College SkillsUSA Students win Eight Medals at State Championships!

Congratulations to Delta College's SkillsUSA team for their outstanding achievement at the State Championships in San Diego (April 4-7).

It turned out to be another extremely successful championship event  for Delta College competitors. Four Delta students received gold medals for their trade and technical skills proficiency. In addition, Delta's two silver and two bronze award winners are eligible to compete at the SkillsUSA National Championships in Kansas City, Mo., June 24-28.

Congratualtions are also in order for Renata Zapara, who was selected as California State SkillsUSA Secretary for 2013-14. Renata was co-winner of the Promotional Board Gold Medal with Brenda Perez at the SkillsUSA National Championships in 2012.
